NAUSEA & VOMITING   ( मतली उल्टी )

  A Sensation of sickness with an inclination of vomit. A Reflex act of expulsion of the stomach content via the esophagus and mouth.

  CAUSES  ( कारण )

               Motion sickness

                 Early stage of pregnancy ( 50-90% nausea , 52-55% vomiting)

              Medication , emotional stress (fear).

       Gallbladder disease

              Food poisoning (campylobacter bacteria)

              Infection ( stomach flu) ,  ulcer, cancer. 

            Brain injury or brain tumor

            Heart attack

      Reaction to smell or odour

                                                                                         Bulimia or  psychological illness

Ingestion of toxins or excessive amount of alcohol

IN CHILD:-

Milk allergy

Viral infection

Certain food borne bacteria (salmonella) 

High fever

Diagnostic Evaluation

 History Collection

 Physical examination

       CBC

TREATMENT:-

  Anti Emetic

 ORS

  Antibiotic

  Antibacterial

PREVENTION:-

• Provide Comfortable position
• Maintain Intake Output Chart
• Provide Fluid and Soft diet
• Good Ventilation
• Advice to take adequate nutrition
• Assess the weight of the patient daily
• Administered medication with Physician order
• Start IV Fluid
